The book as an object – Raycho Stanev

All the books presented on these pages were found in two small private libraries in Kardzhali and Asenovgrad. Despite their huge circulations, the books published in the third quarter of the 20th century and so characteristic of that era are gradually disappearing from our shelves. The handwritten titles of these books, as well as the accompanying illustrations, represent a priceless cultural heritage.They are an inseparable part of our national treasury as examples of a unique, unique way of writing the Cyrillic alphabet. Although there is no claim to be exhaustive, the sample of covers, dust jackets, spines, endpapers and titles included in this book is a true utopia for designers and editors.
