Architecture and toys have always crossed paths in our work. These two themes in our lives have always drawn inspiration from each other. If it weren’t for architecture, the toy project wouldn’t exist. If it weren’t for toys, we would be completely different architects. The battle with lack of time always accompanies our creative desires, so this year we decided to merge these two themes even more tangibly. With our new toy collection, we are paying tribute to one of our favorite architectural movements. The minimalist Nordic woods collection is entirely inspired by the Bauhaus movement. To celebrate its centenary, we have created a series that uses some of its core principles. The Bauhaus movement aimed to unite fine arts and design, creating everyday objects as works of art. Bauhaus is characterized by mass-produced design – simple, rational and accessible to all people. We have used simple geometric shapes, typical materials (beech, oak), the classic colors of this style – black, white and red and textures from our architectural drawings in the illustrations of the northern fox, wolf, moose and owl. To make this project truly special for us, we decided that the first hundred collections would be entirely handmade, numbered with a unique number for each set, and packaged in special packaging in the graphic style of Bauhaus. We will try to produce all subsequent collections by machine, just as the Bauhaus aimed.
